EpiHack Arizona

When

All Day, May 18 – 22, 2026

Designed by the Ending Pandemics Academy, the EpiHack model is built to move from problem to prototype in one week. This is not a conference. It is a hands-on sprint where  TECH works side by side with HEALTH to build practical, working prototypes for real-world surveillance gaps in five days. The focus of this EpiHack is the State of Arizona. The open-source code, creativity, and problem-solving skills brought to this EpiHack will directly shape tools that communities across the state use to report health events in real time and receive timely information back.

WHAT IS AN EPIHACK VIDEO

EpiHack Arizona will embrace a One Health approach, recognizing that human, animal, and environmental health are deeply interconnected and drive the emergence of new and old infectious disease threats. From tracking unusual animal illness to identifying environmental stressors combined with early human symptoms, innovative digital solutions can help spot the spark before it becomes a wildfire. Past EpiHacks including Tanzania, Brazil, Cambodia, Albania and Thailand have demonstrated the power of participatory surveillance—bi-directional, community-driven tools that are affordable, scalable, and still operating decades later.
